It is also celebrated as the “Hometown of Bamboo Weaving in China.” Skilled artisans with years of experience begin their craft by selecting and peeling the bamboo. They then split the bamboo, draw the fibers, and process it until it transforms into strips as thin as paper—while still maintaining consistency and flexibility. This process not only tests their keen eyesight and patience but also demands both physical strength and dexterity. After the weaving is completed, the crafted items undergo multiple coatings of natural lacquer to ensure they are moisture-resistant and durable, effectively protecting against damage from pests as well. It is hoped that the attention to detail and dedication in this craft will be felt in the experience of using these beautifully crafted items. |
